Announcement of a new amount for the purposes of the living and subsistence minimums and for the purposes of state social support

On 9 May 2022, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs issued Announcement No. 127/2022 Coll., and announced the following new amounts for the purpose of determining the living and subsistence minimums and state social support:

a)       Pursuant to Section 8 (2) of Act No. 110/2006 Coll., on the Living and Subsistence Minimums, an amount corresponding to 50% of the average monthly wage in the national economy for the year 2021, i.e., CZK 18,900,

b)      Pursuant to Section 5 (5) to (7) of Act No. 117/1995 Coll., on State Social Support, as amended by Act No. 453/2003 Coll., Act No. 124/2005 Coll., Act No. 346/2010 Coll., Act No. 347/2010 Coll., Act No. 364/2011 Coll., Act No. 252/2014 Coll., and Act No. 200/2017 Coll., an amount corresponding to

  1. 50% of the average monthly wage in the national economy for 2021, i.e., CZK 18,900,
  2. 25% of the average monthly wage in the national economy for 2021, i.e., CZK 9,400.

The new amounts are valid from 1.7.2022.

The concept of state social support refers to benefits provided to persons (family members) in socially recognised social situations, where the state, through their payment, partly assumes responsibility for the incurred social situation. Under the state social support system, the following is provided: child allowances, parental allowances, housing allowances, birth grants, funeral allowances.
