Pension reform
The pension reform will become valid on 1 October 2023. We would also like to inform you that on 23 August 2023, the draft pension reform was approved by the Senate and delivered to the President for his signature. He signed it, despite reservations, on Friday, 1 September 2023.
Act No. 270/2023 Coll., amending Act No. 155/1995 Coll., on Pension Insurance, as later amended, was announced on 7 September 2023 in the Collection of Laws with effect from 1 October 2023. Only the provisions relating to the period of insurance required for entitlement to an old-age pension shall take effect from 1 October 2024.
Among other things, the amendment tightens the rules for early retirement and regulates the regular adjustment of pensions in January.
