The valuation of collateral for loans

Banks and other financial institutions need to determine the fair value of collateral, which can take the form of immovable or moveable assets.

A company’s business shares or stock also frequently can be used as collateral. The value secured for these purposes must necessarily include a certain risk that is connected with the potential future encashment of the given pledge, which usually takes place under pressure and under different circumstances that is usual in the case of general sales. For these purposes we are capable of providing:

  • A basic specification of the value through an expert opinion or expert report for immovable assets
  • A basic specification of the value through an expert opinion or expert report for the valuation of business shares and stock
  • The evaluation of future business plans of the given companies with an emphasis on points of risk that have a substantial influence on the value of these companies
  • Regular or ad hoc requested updates to our expert opinions or expert reports
